Our dessert wine harvest
This year’s harvesting activities finished with our picking grapes providing juice with a density on the Klosterneuburg Must Weight Scale (KMW) of 26.5°. We harvested our specially selected Zierfandler-Rotgipfler grapes on the last day of November.
We were saving these for our production of dessert wines this year – their high acid content and intensive fruit character provide the very best prerequisites for the production of top quality sweet wines. Following a six-year break, we are now looking forward to producing these sweet wines from our autochthonous vine varieties.
We managed to bring in our harvest just before the extensive precipitation we saw in mid-October. The selective manual harvesting method used by our experienced team ensures that only the very best grapes are subsequently processed.
