Read moreThe Thermenregion wine-producing area extends south of Vienna from Perchtoldsdorf to Bad Vöslau. At its core are the wine-growing locations of Gumpoldskirchen and Traiskirchen; it is here that all the Alphart vineyards can be found. Heavy, brown earth soils, formed by the weathering of limestone, in combination with the protected situation and the consequent dry, warm climate are what characterise this region. The grapes that grow to maturity here are made into expressive, mineral wines with lively acidity that are particularly suitable for laying down for longer periods. In addition to various Burgundy varieties, it is particularly the regional specialities Rotgipfler and Zierfandler that are grown here, giving the location its unique signature. “We are proud to be able to look back on 250 years of wine growing. Respect for nature and careful wine preparation using state-of-the-art methods form the cornerstones of our family business,” says Florian Alphart.
